I believe the creative process, and experience, strengthens the soul of individuals and communities, fosters relationships and deepens our understanding of ourselves and our world. William Plomer said, “creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected.” Connection is why we are here; it gives us purpose and meaning to our lives.
For the last 10 years I have been a portrait photographer and catalyst for community engagement. I am passionate about the use of creative expression in communities and working for justice, equality and compassion. This work is my calling, my profession, and the thing that keeps me up at night.
I use photography and the creative process to cultivate social change and contribute to the sustained advancement of human dignity and healthy communities. My visual storytelling highlights issues such as fair housing, homelessness, education equity and LGTBQ rights.
The value of my work is that it inspires and engages individuals and groups; nurtures and heals people and communities; and builds and improves community pride and investment. I wrestle with every image I shoot because people inspire me to reveal their authentic self.
I look forward to connecting with you so we can create together!
